The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a sweet photo round up of the year, sharing pictures of their royal engagements and unseen family pictures with their children.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, their official account posted a video with the caption: ‘2023 [tick emoji].  Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our year’.

The snaps showed William with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in a sweet unseen photo from their father’s day shoot.

The image also contains a subtle but poignant tribute to the children’s great-grandmother, as they are posing on a bench installed at Windsor to commemorate the late Queen’s 90th birthday on April 19, 2016. 

It was taken by photographer and family friend Millie Pilkington earlier this year on the Windsor Estate – possibly at the same time she took the images of Louis in a wheelbarrow to mark his fifth birthday in April.

At the time, the princess said: ‘I really couldn’t be prouder to stand in front of you here today. It really is a true honour to be your Colonel. I am here to listen to you, to support you, and to champion you in all you do – this is a responsibility I do not take lightly.’ 

Another showed her  captured the royal enjoying her lesser-known passion of beekeeping – a hobby she shares with her brother.

The mother-of-three, 41, fully embraced the endeavour for World Bee Day in May, wearing a beekeeper’s suit as she tended to a busy hive in the grounds of Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

The image, taken by Matt Porteous, the royal photographer behind Prince William and Kate’s official family photographs, last year, shows the princess lifting a part of the hive to collect honey.

She grins from inside the beekeeper’s helmet as she does, glancing down at the group of honeybees who have crowded around the board. 

The photograph was posted on Kensington Royal’s Instagram to mark World Bee Day.

Challenged to a 45-second race in which Kate even asked if she could turn the bike’s resistance up and ‘make it harder’, the pair battled it out as they were cheered on by onlookers.
