Princess Josephine, has made her acting debut on the screen and has taken after her grandmother Queen Margrethe.
The 13-year-old starred in second season of the Danish show, Tidsrejsen, which translates to The Voyage Through Time.
It is told in the form of a Nordic Christmas calendar and each series contains 24 episodes which are released daily in December up until Christmas Eve.
But fans got a shock when they saw the daughter of Queen Mary and King Frederik appear on their screens in episode four.
Tidsrejsen is set in the 90s and focuses on a character named Romeo, whose greatest wish is to find his missing father.
The description reads: ‘Romeo discovers that his substitute, Sofie, has a time machine, and when he, together with the new girl in class, Holly, gets hold of the time machine, they embark on a journey filled with adventure and action.’
Josephine plays a character called Kate, who appears to be a similar age to Romeo and attends the same school as him.
The royal household and DR – who produced the series – did not announce that the royal would be involved in the production.

The palace said Josephine had attended the casting call for Tidsrejsen ‘on an equal footing’ with other young budding actors, according to Danish publication Billed Bladet.
Princess Josephine looks wildly different from her usual polished self, donning 90s street wear including a patchwork denim jacket and a scrunchie in her hair.
She also wore her blonde tresses up in a half up half down hairstyle and could be seen wearing silver hoop earrings to fit in with the decade.
But this is not the first time Josephine has taken to the stage, as she also appeared in a production of Peter Pan at Tivoli Copenhagen last year.
It seems Denmark may have a star in the making, as the royal appears to be following in the footsteps of her mother, Queen Mary.
A resurfaced clip posted by blog Royal Fashion Police shows the 52-year-old, originally from Australia, star in an advert.
In 1998, the mother-of-four was seen on a broadcast for V-Line trains, a regional transport company in Victoria.
The short, funny commercial sees Mary playing a passenger reading a newspaper as a passenger next to her opens a packed lunch with some sandwiches.

He then surreptitiously passes one of them into a huge briefcase on the luggage storage space above them. A hand peeks out from the briefcase and takes it.
‘Now it’s easier to a get a friend on the train free,’ the ad then says. ‘Two for One ticket, during May.’
Josephine’s other side of the family also has a penchant for acting, as her grandmother, Queen Margrethe has been very successful in the industry.
The former Monarch, who abdicated in January 2024, made her on-screen debut in 2009, as an extra in the film The Wild Swans.
The movie is a retelling of the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairytale and she also worked on it as a screenwriter.
And she’s been highly commended for her work, winning a Robert Award for her input in Ehrengard: The Art of Seduction, a Danish film produced by Netflix.
The story follows a shy prince and an expert who attempts to teach him the art of seduction – but things go wrong.
Margrethe bagged herself the title of Costume Designer of the Year for the movie and posted about her success on Instagram.

She said: ‘I am deeply grateful, touched and proud of the recognition that the Robert Award represents.
‘Receiving an award that the industry itself awards makes me particularly happy, and it has been a great joy and pleasure to be able to contribute to the expression of the film.
‘I would like to thank the entire team behind the film, but I especially thank all those who have made my ideas, sketches and drawings a reality – not least the talented people who have sewn and worked with the many costumes.’
This comes as Queen Margrethe delighted a Copenhagen audience on Saturday night when she walked on stage at the end of The Nutcracker to reveal that she was the brains behind the production’s costume and set and design.
She played a key role in a new version of the ballet staged at Tivoli’s Concert Hall in the Danish capital – and the rest of the royal family was there to support her.
As the set and costume designer, Margarethe, who arrived in a full-length fur coat, was responsible for three new costumes and three spinning tops, Hello! reported.
Set in Copenhagen, the festive dance production centres on a young girl called Clara who finds herself swept up into a fantasy world on Christmas Eve.
Dressed in a purple ensemble, the popular royal was greeted with enthusiastic applause when she walked on stage with the cast and crew at the end of the show, curtsying five times as the audience gave a standing ovation.
According to the publication, the queen said: ‘I take great joy in contributing to the ballet production of The Nutcracker.
‘Even now, in our sixth staging, it’s still inspiring for the whole team to work on small adjustments and refinements that elevate the overall experience. It’s been an exciting project.’
Margrethe’s eldest son King Frederik and his wife Queen Mary were in the audience, along with three of their children, Princess Isabella, 17, and 13-year-old twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
