- The driver was breathalysed by Spanish police and was found to be over the limit
This is the moment a ‘drink-drive’ tourist inhaled laughing gas from a balloon after crashing his car on a Spanish roundabout, before revellers partied on his roof.
Bizarre footage shows a large group of people approaching a grey vehicle which has mounted a roundabout and ground to a halt on a road in the Costa Brava resort of Lloret de Mar, north of Barcelona.
Video shows how people at the scene of the apparent crash discovered the driver – still with his seatbelt on – breathing in what appears to be nitrous oxide while his confused-looking passenger tries to come to terms with the surreal scenes.
Meanwhile, noisy youngsters who approached the car decided the incident – which happened just before 6am on Sunday – was cause for celebration.
With the two men still in the Cupra Formentor car, they surrounded the vehicle shouting and chanting before at least two took turns to clamber on the roof and jump up and down as others took videos.

Revellers decided it was the perfect time to continue their dancing by jumping on the car’s bonnet
Police breath-tested the driver when they arrived and discovered he was over the limit. He also failed a cannabis test according to local reports.
The unnamed man, described by police sources as a tourist, was arrested after the results of the drink and drug tests came back.
CCTV footage obtained by cops is said to have shown him driving at speed before crashing.

Magaluf vowed to clean up its act but it’s a summer of vomit, violence and alcohol-fuelled mayhem
He is not thought to have been tested for nitrous oxide consumption, despite the video evidence pointing to him sucking up laughing gas.
In May two female British tourists were filmed fighting each other in a Majorcan resort in another case of holidaymaker ‘bad behaviour.’
One of the women was in a thong but that didn’t stop her getting her rival into a chokehold and then having a go at a Good Samaritan trying to separate them before turning her attention back to her rival.
Witnesses egged on the pair as they made a spectacle of themselves with their late-night show.
A group of British women watching from a safe distance shouted: ‘Fight, fight, fight’ as they pushed and slapped each other.
It was not entirely clear why the brunette involved in the violence, who looked very unsteady on her feet when she was lifted off the ground, was only partially dressed and showing off most of her backside in her unusual fight attire.
Another reveller climbed up on to the roof of the car and continued to dance and jump
The shocking scenes took place just before 6am on Sunday. The region was north of Barcelona
The incident occurred at Cala d’Or on Majorca’s south-east coast, in an area packed with bars and restaurants, hours after regional government officials announced a tightening-up of legislation designed to stamp out drunken tourism in party resorts on the island including parts of Magaluf.
Overnight it also emerged nine Dutch tourists aged 18 to 20 had been held after allegedly causing nearly £1,800 damage to a hotel in S’Arenal on the eastern end of the Playa de Palma area of Majorca.
They are said to have made a large hole in a wall between two rooms at the three-star MLL Palma Bay Club Resort before leaving the hotel without officially checking out.
They were arrested at Majorca airport as they tried to fly home and hauled to court on Monday. A judge confiscated their passports and told them they would only have them returned once they paid for the damage they were accused of causing.
