Britney Spears’ estranged mom Lynne is back teaching elementary school kids to help pay her bills after yet another falling out with her famous daughter.

Lynne, 68, who worked as a teacher and ran a daycare in Kentwood, Louisiana, prior to Britney’s rise to superstardom in the early 2000s, is understood to be struggling financially, according to those close to her – and has taken on part-time work at a local school in order to supplement her income.

‘She is struggling to pay her bills, but she has already substituted for several classes at [a local school],’ a source told DailyMail.com.

Lynne – who currently resides in a $2 million mansion built by her famous daughter in 2001 – is said to have returned to teaching this term. Substitute teachers working in the area can expect to earn around $15 an hour.

According to the source, Lynne’s so-called money struggles have come as a result of her ongoing rift with her multi-millionaire daughter, with whom she shares an incredibly complicated relationship – which the insider says has ‘seriously impacted’ her finances.

Lynne filed for chapter 7 – liquidation bankruptcy – in 1998. She had owned five companies in the past 20 years, including Britney Online, inc. and One More Time Music, Inc. but is no longer involved in any of them.

She no longer owns her own property, having sold Britney’s childhood home for $275,000 in 2021.

Much of the duo’s feud has played out publicly on 41-year-old Britney’s explosive Instagram account, centered around the singer’s accusations that her mom did very little to get her out of the 13-year conservatorship that she was placed into in 2008, which was controlled by her father Jamie Spears, 71.

Another blow was dealt to their already-fractured relationship not long after the conservatorship was overturned – when Lynne requested that Britney be made to pay her $660,000 attorney bill.

According to court documents, Lynne filed a petition in November 2021 to request that her daughter’s estate pay the $660,000 attorney bill for her conservatorship lawyers, Yasha Bronshteyn and Gladstone N. Jones III, who she said she hired to ‘save her daughter’ from ‘incredibly abusive acts of her father’.

Five months later, Britney’s own lawyer Mathew Rosengart argued against that petition in court in April 2022, stating that ‘there is no legal authority supporting’ Lynne’s claims that she should be able to collect funds from her daughter’s estate.

Court documents reveal that Rosengart further alleged that Britney had spent approximately $1.7 million on her mother over the years, claiming that Lynne had ‘for at least a decade resided in a large, expansive house owned by Britney’, who – he said – also ‘paid Lynne Spears’ utilities, telephone services, insurance, property taxes, landscaping, pool work, pest control, repairs and maintenance’.

Legal paperwork obtained by The Blast in October of that same year revealed that Lynne had withdrawn her $660,000 claim – and now the Spears family insider has claimed that she did this, at least in part, because she hoped that it would help her to repair her relationship with her daughter.

‘This was the final nail in the coffin for Lynne,’ the source said. ‘She could not fight with Britney anymore and she knew that asking her to pay her half-million dollar lawyer bill was not right, considering what Britney had been through.

‘Not only that, but Lynne was really trying to repair her relationship with Britney. Taking more money from her was not the way to do it.’

However, while Lynne and her daughter showed signs of reconciling earlier this year – when Britney revealed that her mother had been to pay her a visit at her home in California in May – that rapprochement was short-lived insiders tell DailyMail.com, claiming that the popstar has since cut ties with her family one again in the wake of her divorce from Sam Asghari.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Lynne for comment.

One month after reuniting with Britney, Lynne convinced her to reconcile with her other daughter Jamie Lynn, 32. Last month, Britney revealed that she visited the Zooey 102 reboot set in LA, and patched things up with her estranged sister.

In August, Britney suffered a devastating blow when her husband of 14 months, Sam Asghari, 29, filed for divorce.

DailyMail.com previously reported that Lynne ‘was furious’ at Sam for ‘abandoning’ her daughter and ‘begged’ Britney to move back home to Louisiana – in the $2 million mansion that the Grammy-winning singer had built for her mom in 2000.

‘Lynne is begging [Britney] to leave LA and live with her,’ a source at the time said. ‘LA is toxic and the only thing keeping her there was [Sam]. Lynne believes she can heal and regroup in Louisiana, then return to LA when she is ready.

‘Instead of working with her family to get her help, [they feel that] he abandoned her as soon as things got tough.’

The divorce also left Britney’s loved ones scrambling to come up with a plan to help her – a desperate struggle that has been made all the more difficult by the fact that her previous 13-year conservatorship was only recently terminated.

‘They feel the only option would be another conservatorship, even though that’s the last thing they’d want – but they cannot go down that road because she just got the paperwork to be released from the last one – and they’ve now even created a new law around it,’ the source continued.

Spears assured fans in the caption: 'I started playing in the kitchen with knives today!!! Don¿t worry they are NOT real knives!!!'
New post: Britney Spears was active on Instagram on Monday night as she shared a new dancing video that showed her with two knives in her hands

Britney sparked concern on Monday when she shared a video of herself dancing with knives – although she insisted to her followers that they were not real

Britney’s reconciliation with her mom and sister Jamie-Lynn, who is on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, was short lived, as DailyMail.com confirmed that she cut them both out of her life again shortly after Sam filed for divorce.

In Lynne’s 2008 autobiography Through the Storm she said she blamed herself for Britney’s demise.

‘When her life was such a success, what did she need me for? And when things took a turn for the worse, I was out, because other people – dancers, managers – were closer to her, and with her day and night,’ Lynne wrote.

‘Being a mother, you can’t help but have regrets about what you did and didn’t do for your kids, and I’m no different,’ admitted Lynne.

Britney continues to cause concern with her erratic behavior online – most recently sharing a video of herself dancing with knives, which prompted serious fears among her fans.

The hitmaker was scantily clad in swimsuit bottoms and a crop top as she appeared in the foyer of her California home while whizzing the two kitchen utensils in a dizzying piece of improvised choreography.

In her caption, the singer reassured her fans that ‘they were not real knives’, however this did little to calm the concern over her behavior in the clip – which is the latest in a line of increasingly-bizarre social media posts to be shared by the popstar.

Inside Britney Spears’ toxic family after conservatorship battle left her estranged from father, mother and sister

Britney Spears’ ‘cult-like’ conservatorship was terminated by a judge last November after 13 years of having her $60million fortune and personal affairs controlled by her 69-year-old father Jamie Spears.

And in the months leading up to the arrangement’s end, Britney exposed the true state of her relationship with Jamie, as well as her mother Lynne and sister Jamie Lynn.

She’s put her family on blast for allegedly taking advantage of her during the ‘demoralizing and degrading’ conservatorship, even going as far as to say they belong in jail for ‘what they did to me.’

And now, with Britney living life estranged from her father, sister and mother, DailyMail.com is looking back on how the conservatorship tore the Spears family apart.

Jamie Spears

Jamie was granted a ‘temporary conservatorship’ over his daughter in 2008 after the singer landed herself in the headlines for erratic behavior – including THAT infamous head shaving incident – and, eventually, suffering a nervous breakdown.

Despite its initial temporary nature, the conservatorship was extended indefinitely, leaving Britney under the control of her father for the next 13 years.

Though Britney has previously hinted at the fact that the conservatorship felt ‘just like Groundhog Day every day’ to her, the Lucky singer rarely spoke about the arrangement or the extent of her father’s involvement in her financial, personal and career decisions.

Jamie would abruptly step down as conservator in 2019, citing personal health reasons.’ Jodi Montgomery, an experienced conservator, would temporarily take over his duties.

Obvious tensions between Jamie and Britney became public when the performer objected to him remaining her conservator the following year, even threatening to cease performing if he remained in power.

Her attorney told NBC that Britney was ‘afraid of her father’ – a sentiment that would be echoed in the heartbreaking court testimony she delivered in July 2021.

Though her bid to give Jamie the boot was denied, Britney’s fight to end her conservatorship as a while would gain intense momentum in 2021 following the release of  The New York Times’ documentary Framing Britney Spears, which took a deep dive into the controversial conservatorship.

Just one month later, Britney’s lawyer Samuel Ingham III filed to have Jamie removed and to have Jodi takeover. And in April, she’d request to address the court regarding the life she’d been forced to live for the past 13 years.

In the 24-minute testimony, Britney slammed Jamie and claimed that the conservatorship was ‘allowing my dad to ruin my life.’

She accused her family of purposely instigating her ‘angry tantrums’ and ‘crazy’ behavior, which led to her undergoing a number of psych evaluations ‘against my will.’

She further alleged that Jamie and the rest of the family were staying at her home in Jackson Beach, Florida at the time and that her father ‘didn’t care to ask what was going on then.’

Britney also told the court that she was ‘always extremely scared’ of Jamie while growing up due to his struggles with alcohol.

By August 2021, after continued efforts in the courts by Britney’s new lawyer Mathew S. Rosengart, Jamie agreed to step down as conservator.

After learning he would finally be abandoning the role, Britney blasted the conservatorship as ‘a family business’ and thanked Jamie for ‘exiting out of my life and finally allowing me to live mine !!!!

The following month, Jamie filed a petition to end the conservatorship as a whole, noting that he ‘unconditionally loves and supports his daughter’ – it was officially terminated by a judge on November 12.

In the months since the termination, Britney has continued to use Instagram to air out her grievances with her father, with her lawyer also recently accusing the Spears family patriarch of ‘bully[ing] and harass[ing]’ Britney after the fact.

Lynne Spears

Lynne Spears expressed publicly in a statement published in July 2021 that she fully supported her daughter’s big to remove Jamie as conservator.

It is clear to me that James P. Spears is incapable of putting my daughter’s interests ahead of his own on both a professional and a personal level,’ it read.

Yet Jamie hit back, accusing Lynne of being an absent mother and claiming she was paid $150,000 a year by Britney for her mansion in Louisiana.

‘In stark contrast, it appears that Lynne is the one who is incapable of putting her daughter’s interests ahead of her own,’ Jamie Spears’ statement said.

‘Lynne has not been involved in her daughter’s life for most of the past twelve years.’

Controversially, Lynne had published her own memoir Through The Storm: A Real Story Of Fame And Family In A Tabloid World in 2008, the year Jamie was made Britney’s conservator after the pop star’s months-long mental breakdown.

Britney would later accuse her mother of ‘secretly’ ruining her life and being the real mastermind behind her conservatorship in a now-deleted Instagram post published in November.

‘My dad may have started the conservatorship 13 years ago … but what people don’t know is that my mom is the one who gave him the idea,’ Britney captioned, adding that Jamie was ‘not smart enough’ to come up with the idea.

She continued: ‘She secretly ruined my life … and yes I will call her and [Britney’s former manager] Lou Taylor out on it … so take your whole ‘I have NO IDEA what’s going on’ attitude and go f*** yourself!!!!’

 Jamie Lynn Spears

Britney and her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears have developed a highly contentious relationship over the years – which would go into overdrive as Britney’s bid to end her long-standing conservatorship revved up in the courts.

Jamie Lynn broke her silence on the matter in an emotional Instagram video published in June 2021, where she stated that she wanted nothing but ‘happiness’ for her sister and that she always has and ‘always will’ support her.

The Zoey 101 star insisted that she’d made a ‘very conscious choice’ to ‘only participate’ in the singer’s life as her sister – and that she was not on Britney’s payroll as fans had previously accused her of being.

The video appeared to rile Britney up as she launched countless Instagram attacks directed at her sister Jamie Lynn, as well as her mother and father, one of which saw the star threaten to expose them if she ever landed a TV interview.

Jamie Lynn publicly begged for ‘peace’ amid her sister releasing the bombshell social media claims, which later resulted in Britney unfollowing her ‘mean a** sister’ on Instagram.

In late 2021, Jamie Lynn announced she’d be releasing own memoir, titled Things I Should Have Said. She’d changed the titled from Must Confess, after receiving backlash from Britney fans over it being a partial lyric from Britney’s chart-topping track Baby One More Time.

Then while Jamie Lynn was doing publicity for the memoir she aired out a series of eye-catching allegations about Britney.

Jamie Lynn claimed her older sister once locked them both in a room with knife in hand, and described her behavior at one point as ‘erratic, paranoid and, spiraling.’

Britney categorically denied the knife story and retaliated by calling her sister a ‘scum person’ for telling ‘crazy lies’ about her.

As the bad blood between them rose to a boil, Britney also expressed regret that she had not ‘slapped you and Mamma right across your f***ing faces!!!!!’

During the week of the book’s release, Britney’s counsel sent Jamie Lynn a cease and desist over the ‘misleading or outrageous claims’ in the memoir.
