One cool-handed baseball fan took multi-tasking to a new level during the Braves’ game against the Phillies on Wednesday.

Early in the second inning at SunTrust Park, Philadelphia right fielder and third baseman Nick Castellanos smashed his first home run of the day into the crowd – and the ball fell straight to a spectator holding a baby.

Though instead of moving out of its way, the fan in question instead rose to his feet, watched the ball drop from the sky and coolly collected it with his other hand.

He then put his young child back down into a seat before throwing it back onto the field.

It was an incredibly executed piece of skill, with a number of users on X already branding it the fan catch of the year.

One wrote: ‘Wow… beautiful catch with his bare hands… smooth…’

Another put: ‘My man. Catch of the year!’

A third pointed out: ‘Not only holding onto the baby but the baby never dropped their cone! Lol’

While one joked: ‘Phillies should put him in LF’.

The Phillies ran out 6-5 winners in the last regular season game against their NL East rivals, with Castellanos on hand with two homers in the victory.

The 31-year-old also saved the game for Philadelphia with a brilliant thro as they came out on top after 10 innings on Wednesday.

The Braves rallied from a four-run deficit and had a chance to walk off with the win in the ninth after pinch-runner Luke Williams stole second and third.

Orlando Arcia hit a fly ball down the right-field line that appeared deep enough to bring home the tagging Williams. But Castellanos made the catch in foul territory, spun around and threw home in time for Garrett Stubbs to tag the runner on the right shoulder before his foot touched the plate.

In the 10th, Bryson Stott came through with two outs, lining an opposite-field double down the third-base line that brought home two runs off A.J. Minter (3-6).

Craig Kimbrel (8-6) claimed the win and Matt Strahm earned his second save, limiting the Braves to Ozzie Albies’ sacrifice fly.
