British icons Carey Mulligan and Gary Oldman have landed Emmy nominations for this year’s star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles.
It marks Carey’s first-ever Emmy nod for her remarkable role in season two of Netflix’s dark comedy series Beef.
Carey, who plays interior designer Lindsay in the series, is up for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie gong.
She will compete in the same category against Claire Danes (The Beast In Me), Sally Field (Remarkably Bright Creatures), Sarah Pidgeon (Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette) and Sarah Snook (All Her Fault).
Beef, which first launched in 2023, saw two strangers get into a road rage incident that brought complete chaos into their lives.
The American comedy-drama series, created by Lee Sung Jin, starred Steven Yeun and Ali Wong as Danny Cho and Amy Lau, who were entangled in a prolonged feud.

The show proved hugely popular among fans and critics alike, winning all three of its nominated categories at the Golden Globe Awards following its release.
Beef also faces competition in the Outstanding Limited Series category after landing a nomination.
Sir Gary, 68, has also received a prestigious nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Jackson Lamb in Apple TV+ thriller Slow Horses.
He goes against fellow Brit Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat), as well as Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Mark Ruffalo (Task) and Noah Wyle (The Pitt).
The British spy thriller television series is also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Directing gong.
Scottish star Jack Lowden has landed a nod in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category for his role in Slow Horses.
British actress Kate O’Flynn received a nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Widow’s Bay.
