A young family has been forced to watch on as their home was almost completely destroyed by a raging house fire.

Social media influencer and former fitness competitor, Grace Torres, was on the scene as her Sutton, NSW property went up in flames about 4.30pm on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to reports of the fire on Read Road, just north of the ACT border, with several neighbours already attempting to contain the flames to the garage.

It is believed the blaze was started by a faulty electrical appliance in the garage and quickly spread to the rest of the home.
