Blood-curdling video footage shows the moment a fearless pest controller caught 20 rattlesnakes in an Arizona garage after the creepy crawlers refused to leave through a cracked door.

Marissa Maki – who is a snake removal expert – was dispatched to a garage in Mesa, Arizona, where she faced a record number of rattlesnakes during a single call.

An Arizona homeowner called a rattlesnake solution team after he spotted a few adult snakes and some babies.

He had cracked his garage door in the hopes that the snakes would make their way out, but a few days later, they were still hanging out where he found them.

The man said to Maki ‘you would think that after 23 years in Arizona I would be used to this. I tried not to panic, but…’

He was too scared to scope out the snake situation from inside the garage and said ‘I tried waiting them out,

‘I only saw them from peeking around the corner’.

Maki began by first scooping a mother snake up with a grabber tool and placing her calmly in a big bucket. The average length of an adult western diamondback rattlesnake is four to six feet.

The snake-expert was shocked by how many snakes kept popping up. She said: ‘That’s a lot of snakes. That’s crazy – I’m not gonna lie this is crazy.

‘The adults shed, the babies shed… wow.’

These terrifying creatures can live up to 20 years and use venom to immobilize their prey – including birds, reptiles and small mammals. Western diamondback rattlesnake bites are rarely fatal with only one in 600 bites containing enough venom to cause death.

Western diamondback rattlesnakes are a venomous member of the viper family that can be found in southwestern parts of the United States and Mexico.

The rattlesnakes violently hissed and rattled while Maki removed them and squirmed around on top of each other in the deep bucket.

Maki had to grab a whole bucket to contain the babies – which she thought came from several different moms in the snake squad.

She even had to enlist a large pair of tweezers to get the right angle for the babies who were hidden in the crevices of the garage.

Marissa explained snakes typically hang out for around 10 days while they wait for their skins to shed before moving on.

She finished her expedition by bringing the buckets of snakes to the Arizona dessert and letting all the creatures loose into big open areas of land.

After doing a final head-count of the snakes she concluded that there were two mother-snakes, three other adults, and 15 babies. One of the adult snakes was pregnant and yet to give birth to her babies.
