Love Island stars Maura Higgins and Faye Winter had to be separtated during a furious backstage row at the National Television Awards on Tuesday evening.

Onlookers at the awards party spotted the reality stars locked in an ‘hour-long’ argument, which was captured in a video obtained by The Sun.

In the clip, Maura, 32, and Faye, 28, can be seen jabbing figures at each other during the feud, while Maura shouted: ‘Don’t you point your finger at me!’

According to the publication, a friend of one of the women was forced to intervene, saying: ‘Girls, girls. Why are you fighting? This has been going on for an hour now. Stop it, stop it.’

The argument took place at the bar in a backstage area of the NTAs at the O2 Arena in front of a room full of attendees.

Both parties looked furious as they rowed back and forth over a currently unknown issue.

An onlooker told the Sun: ‘Maura looked furious with Faye – the pair were arguing quite loudly and in front of a loads of people. It was quite embarrassing and they were at it for ages.’

Another attendee noted: ‘Maura and Faye looked a bit worse for wear and were rowing for most of the evening. They seemed to be really p***** off at each other.

Maura appeared on season five of the popular ITV2 reality show, while Faye appeared the following year during series seven.

Maura, who was the social host of Love Island USA, was reportedly heard relaying the conversation she had with Faye to a friend later on.

Following the argument she missed last orders at the bar, as she was refused a glass of wine because they were no longer serving alcohol.

Maura and Faye’s representatives have been contacted for comment.

During the evening, Maura made a bold choice in her illusion two-piece dress, but left fans divided with her very racy pearl-covered look.

Meanwhile, Faye opted for a dazzling silver mesh slip which was layered over a nude bodysuit.

It wasn’t the first time the NTAs had descended into a fight, as Chris Hughes became embroiled in a violent altercation at the 2020 ceremony.

At the time, Chris was dating ex-Little Mix star Jesy Nelson, who took home the gong for Best Factual Programme, for her critically-acclaimed BBC Three documentary.

But the celebrations looked to be short-lived, as Chris found himself grappling with a photographer outside the O2 in the early hours of Wednesday morning, in a row which is now being investigated by the Met Police.

The following morning, Chris took to social media to apologise to his girlfriend and admitted the night ‘should have been about her’ and not the scrape.

Chris wrote on social media: ‘I want to address last night’s altercation. I was having an amazing night celebrating the award my girlfriend deservedly won…

‘After coming out of our hotel a particular paparazzi decided to repeatedly call me a name I wouldn’t call my worst enemy, and physically try and start an altercation. As everyone can see I retaliated back badly to this – which I regret…

‘I’m human. No different to anyone else’s however I want to make everyone aware this was only in self defense. I hope people I care about including my followers, family and friends can understand and forgive me.

‘This night was about Jesy’s win and I am sorry if I distracted anyone from this. Ultimately, I’m the proudest boyfriend ever and want to congratulate my amazing girlfriend for a deserving win. I am proud of you.’

Speaking to MailOnline following the row, the photographer said: ‘I am a freelance photographer so I only earn money depending on what pictures I sell – I really wanted a picture a Chris and Jesy together.

‘However, they exited the hotel separately and I was disappointed as a picture of Chris on his own doesn’t really sell. I’m sorry for the langauge, but I said: ‘that’s a c***’ under my breath. I was referring to the situation and not to Chris.

In 2019, Jacqueline Jossa was pictured leaving the NTAs having an emotional chat with her husband Dan Osborne amid claims he was caught flirting with female guests.

Jacqueline, who has two daughters with Dan, is said to have demanded to leave when she saw the TOWIE star in conversation with the women – in a row which came after they suffered a self-confessed ‘bad patch’ in their marriage.

Insiders told the Mirror that Jacqueline stated: ‘It’s just not cool. I want to go NOW’, before growing ‘really upset’, before she later admitted on Instagram that both parties were drunk during the night on the town.

Insiders said: ‘When he came back over they got into an argument which resulted in her wanting to leave early.  Jacqueline said: ‘It’s just not cool. I want to go NOW’ and he was arguing that he didn’t want to leave and the feud carried on…

‘I reckon he’s up to old tricks because afterwards, she was really upset and actually cried. It was awkward because everyone was having fun and they weren’t hiding their fight from those around them.’

They were later seen looking tense as they walked inside the venue, with Jacqueline raising her arms towards her husband in a seemingly enraged display.

The following day, Dan rubbished ‘nonsense’ claims he was caught in a drunken row with his wife after the frosty pictures emerged.

He insisted he had a ‘great night’ at the star-studded awards ceremony and thanked the organisers for inviting his wife and him.
