Marina Bye is the latest celebrity offspring to enter the nepo baby circle with her breakthrough role in The Inbetweeners movie.

The rising star, 33, has joined the legendary cast alongside legendary Simon Bird (who plays Will McKenzie), Joe Thomas (Simon Cooper), James Buckley (Jay Cartwright) and Blake Harrison (Neil Sutherland).

She is set to take on the role of the bride as she was pictured on set for the first time in a bridal gown – though it is not clear which of the four are getting hitched.

Plans for the movie emerged last month, but shortly after it was reported that Emily Atack (Charlotte ‘Big Jugs’ Hinchcliffe) would not be returning over an alleged past feud with Buckley. 

Marina will be sure to bring her humorous roots to the sitcom after inheriting her famous mother’s sharp wit.

The nepo baby is the daughter of American presenter and actress Ruby Wax, 73, and TV producer Ed Bye, 71 – pictured with her siblings Madeline, 36, and son Max, 38

Ruby and Ed are parents to three children Marina, actress Madeline, 36, as well as computer coder son Max, 38. 

Unlike his siblings who favour the spotlight, Max lives a low-key life away from the spotlight in Washington with his wife of five years Katy Balls.

Meanwhile, Marina and her sister Madeline have been curating themselves an acting career while hosting their comedy podcast.

Marina has ventured into the world of acting, playing Pandora Henry in Prime Video’s The Girlfriend. 

She has also had small roles in Hulu series We Were The Lucky Ones, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy and Wonka.

Madeline has also appeared in movies including A Caribbean Dream, How to Talk to Girls at Parties and Breathe.

The two sisters regularly work together as a double act, under the name Siblings Comedy and have performed at Edinburgh Fringe.

On her double act with sister Maddy, Marina told The Guardian in 2020: ‘When you’ve lived with someone all your life and come out of the same womb, you speak the same language. 

‘You understand each other’s rhythms, each other’s humour. When Maddy and I do comedy together, it’s like we could finish each other sentences. We never collide, we never interrupt.’

Speaking about her kids in 2017, Ruby told The Guardian: ‘Maddy is a comedian and Marina is an actress.

‘Maddy and Marina have just started a comedy show called Siblings. If they weren’t funny I wouldn’t encourage them but they are.

‘When they are all round for dinner they make [brother] Max laugh so much he cries.’

Three years later, Ruby shared an insight into their family dynamic in an interview with The Mirror. 

Ruby said: ‘Even though my daughters are comedians they don’t ask for my advice – in their eyes I know nothing. They do spot-on impressions of me. Max is a coder. 

‘The dinner table conversations we have are just hilarious. I hope I’ve taught them to be adventurous.’ 

Ruby revealed Marina’s funny personality in a hilarious Instagram post last year. 

She wrote: ‘Every year my kids pose by our tree – Marina always dresses like the crazy child and the other two pretend to be normal. Here is this year’s edition.’

Despite excitement over the return, it has been reported that streaming bosses aren’t satisfied with just the main men returning, as they want Emily Atack on board

Earlier this month fans started predicting storylines for the upcoming third movie, which was announced by Netflix recently. 

While some mused over the futures of geeky Will, lying Jay, gormless Neil and earnest Simon in the third film, some however also voiced fears of the risque comedy becoming ‘watered-down and politically correct’.

The news of its return followed months of speculation over the revival of the sitcom, which was originally broadcast on Channel 4 between 2008 and 2010 before the release of two films in 2011 and 2014 and a reunion in 2019.

At the heart of the speculation was the prospect of the return of Emily’s character after it was rumoured she was delaying the reunion due to a longstanding feud with James.

Emily, 36, whose star has risen in recent years thanks to her role in Rivals, is said to have refused to return after she was unceremoniously axed from The Inbetweeners reunion seven years ago following a ‘past fling’.

One fan kicked off the speculation, writing: ‘Inbetweeners 3 predictions: Jay is woke, Neil is rich from stocks/crypto, Simon is back with Tara. The film is Will’s stag do and his fiancée is Charlotte or just someone too fit for him so that’s a joke made all film.’

Another list read: ‘Predictions: Simon’s getting married but Tara’s back on the scene and he’s had his head turned. Stag do antics see Neil (who’s in recovery) in bother…

‘Will funds the trip with the bonus from his City job. Jay lives hand to mouth and is an awesome stay at home dad to five kids.’
