Meet the Canadian borzoi with a huge nose named Lapsha – whose daily antics on Instagram have gone viral among dog-lovers.

The owners of the tall white pooch have hilariously been documenting her ‘daily struggles’ of having such a big snoot to navigate.

With more than 108,000 fans, Lapsha shows off her ridiculously long nose – which is estimated to be about 12 inches -, as well as her cute puppy eyes.

Her family reportedly believe that she should beat the world record for the longest snoot – or as they call it, her ‘snootapede’.

Despite looking adorable, the nose does cause Lapsha some serious daily problems such as clumsiness and messiness.

Borzois are known for their long faces. The name of the breed translates to ‘fast’ in Russian, where they are also known as wolfhounds. From nose to tail, Eris spans four-feet-nine-inches, with her nose being a foot long.

Borzoi’s are ranked 103rd in popularity among the 192 dog breeds listed by the American Kennel Club in 2018. Lily and Eris haven’t yet met another borzoi in person but remain in hope.

Whilst the length of her elongated sniffer is unverified, the super-snouted hound has plenty of time to become an official world-record holder, as borzois can live for up to 15 years.

In a post explaining Lapsha’s long nose, her owners quipped: ‘When comfortable, the snootapede starts to droop and the snoot reaches maximum droop. This is called true form.

‘This is often immeasurable, like trying to measure a shifting mountain range. Most people only view causal form in snootapedes as it is the typical shape they take when out and about.’

Another post read: ‘Snoot resting. It’s important to rest the snoot on a comfortable surface such as, but not limited to: pillows, blankets, beds, people and couches.

‘Here we see the snoot resting peacefully against a most favourable surface, the couch. Snoot resting can be as short as minute to as long as several hours.’
