Prince Harry is travelling home to the UK today for tonight’s WellChild Awards – but Prince William is conveniently 100 miles away in Bournemouth as King Charles remains in Balmoral.

Neither the King nor the Prince of Wales will meet with Harry during his visit, a palace insider claimed, adding that Charles had ‘no time in the diary’ to see his son.

King Charles is currently still at Balmoral in Scotland where he usually spends the summer months, while his oldest son Prince William is in Bournemouth for his major campaign to end homelessness.

Harry will fly in today – without his wife Meghan Markle, who is staying behind in California – to celebrate the achievements and resilience of seriously ill youngsters and the families supported by WellChild, a charity of which he has been patron for 15 years.

And from Saturday Harry will be in Dusseldorf in Germany for the opening ceremony of his Invictus Games.

The venue of tonight’s awards ceremony is being kept secret, with the organisers declining to tell MailOnline the location. One source said both the organisers and Harry were ‘absolutely paranoid’ about the location being revealed before the event.

WellChild have however revealed a livestream of the awards will be broadcast from 6.15pm via the website of Hello! magazine, which are its official media partners.

The magazine also reported that Harry will likely remain in Britain tomorrow for the anniversary of the Queen’s death. He will then travel to Dusseldorf on Saturday.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla are not expected to attend any public engagements this week as they remember the life of Queen Elizabeth II.

The pair will instead mark the anniversary privately tomorrow at their Scottish retreat, where they are spending their traditional summer break.

It is understood that an invitation to the Royal Family’s annual summer get-together at Balmoral had not been extended to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex this year.

Meanwhile William has been filmed greeting England football legend Paul Gascoigne among an excited crowd inside the outlet, with Gascoigne saying that he lived in nearby Sandbanks and was feeling ‘a lot better, getting there’ after his long battle with alcohol addiction.

Gascoigne – who kissed the hand of William’s mother Princess Diana at the 1991 FA Cup final – beamed throughout the chat and seemed delighted to meet the Prince.

Earlier, William had been given his own name badge as was seen laughing and joking with staff as he visited the Pret and had a go at making sandwiches for customers.

He joined Pret staff to learn about a scheme helping 500 people experiencing or at risk of homelessness into jobs at the chain’s UK outlets over the next half a decade.

William, 41, arrived in Bournemouth by train on the eve of the anniversary of the Queen’s death. He was filmed walking along the station platform next to a South Western Railway service, in a video posted on social media by Kensington Palace.

The Prince will meet representatives from eight national and local firms to hear about their support for his five-year Homewards project to end homelessness.
