- The shocking incident took place at a tournament in Derby on Sunday, August 20
This is the sickening moment a bleeding man was attacked with a machete, axe and baseball bat by a masked gang at a sports event in Derby.
The victim was targeted by a group of men after violence broke out and ‘gunshots’ were fired at a kabaddi tournament in suburb of Alvaston last month.
In shocking footage shared on social media one man with a bloodied face and hands can be seen curling up in a ball as masked men rein blows down on him, while some bystanders plead with them to stop.
The sudden outbreak, which is believed to have been caused by clashes between rival gangs in a pre-arranged fight, sent spectators and their families running in terror.
Since the shocking outbreak of violence 12 men have been arrested and three have been charged with offences including attempted murder, violent disorder and possession of a firearm.

In a statement released the day after the incident, the England Kabaddi Federation (EKF) condemned the attacks.
They said: ‘EKF condemns the incident that took place yesterday at Derby Kabaddi Tournament in strongest terms possible.
‘EKF understands that a fight broke out between unknown individuals in the car park which then spread as far as the entrance gates of the Kabaddi playing areas which as always was secured by two metre high mesh security fence.
‘However, the individuals involved did not get past the crowd barriers protecting the pitch.
‘While it was a horrific and terrifying incident no bystander (player, official or spectator) was in any way attacked or involved.
‘Initial unconfirmed enquiries indicate that it was a pre-arranged fight between rival gangs based in Midlands. EKF wishes to emphasise that the gangs in question do not have any links or connections with any EKF affiliated club or its members.
‘The Derby Kabaddi tournament appears to have been chosen by these gangs purely at random for reasons only they know.
‘The police declared the whole area a crime scene as a result of which EKF was forced to abandon the tournament.’
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information, is asked to contact Derbyshire Constabulary on 101 or online, quoting the reference 739 of 20 August.
