State of the Union camera operator hailed as 'biggest troll in America' by conservatives after cutting to Somali and transgender Democrat lawmakers at very opportune moments

The camera operator at Donald Trump’s State of the Union address has been hailed by conservatives as the ‘biggest troll in America’ for some very pointed camera cuts during the fiery speech.

The cameraman’s quick pans to transgender Rep. Sarah McBride and Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar went viral on social media following Trump’s address on Tuesday night.

Omar, a Somali refugee, appeared close to tears as Trump took aim at fraud in Minnesota allegedly perpetrated by the Somali community, who he dubbed ‘pirates.’

Trump said: ‘When it comes to the corruption that is plundering America, there has been no more stunning example than Minnesota – where members of the Somali community have pillaged an estimated $19 billion from the American taxpayer.’

As Trump delivered the barb, the camera panned to Omar growing emotional in the audience, before she shouted back: ‘Liar!’

Omar and fellow Squad-member Rashida Tlaib yelled ‘You have killed Americans’, but their protests were quickly drowned out by chants of ‘U-S-A’ by the audience.

Soon after, Trump pointed out one of his invitees to the address, Virginia teenager Sage Blair, whose family sued her school claiming they concealed that Blair was identifying as transgender before she ran away from home and was sex trafficked.

Trump used the teen as an example of states ‘allowed to rip children from their parents’ arms and transition them to a new gender against the parents’ will’ – a remark that led the cameraman to quickly pan to McBride’s stony reaction.

McBride, the first transgender member of Congress in US history, appeared upset as Trump said Blair’s family was targeted ‘because they refused to call their daughter a boy.’

Social media users were quick to notice the cameraman’s pointed cuts, as one said on X: ‘Who ever the producer of tonight’s State of The Union broadcast is, has to be the biggest troll in America.’

Others shared memes of the cameraman mocking the Democratic lawmakers as they sat through Trump’s volatile speech.

Over 70 Democrats boycotted the speech on Tuesday night, handing Trump a largely positive audience in the House Chamber as he was greeted by cheers and whistles.

Trump began his address by announcing that ‘America is back, bigger, stronger and better than before… This is the golden age of America.’

But before he could even begin, proceedings devolved into anarchy as Democrat Al Green was bounced from the chamber for holding up a racially-charged sign.

Even as Omar and Tlaib tried to heckle Trump by calling him a ‘murderer’, Trump snapped back at the ‘crazy’ liberals and leaning into the signature ‘America First’ pillars that returned him to power.
