  • Dave and Sarah Masters captured the unbelievable feat on their home CCTV
  • The footage shows a fox being chased by their dogs before ‘flying out’ a window

This is the extraordinary moment that a cunning fox escaped from a couple’s garden after ‘flying out’ of their upstairs bathroom window.

Dave Masters, 55, and his wife Sarah, 48, captured the unbelievable feat on camera after a curious visitor wandered into their garden in Luton last week.

The footage caught by the couple’s home CCTV shows a wild fox hiding in their garden before Dave, who is wearing a dressing gown, comes round the corner with their two dogs Benji and Mylo.

Both pets immediately dart to the back of the garden towards the fox before chasing it down the side of the house, out of sight of the camera.

A few seconds later, Dave is again in the garden with Benji and Mylo when suddenly in the top left of the screen the fox can be seen jumping out the upstairs bathroom before presumably scampering to safety.

Retired police officer Dave told ITV News: ‘I was letting the dogs out in the garden because my wife said there were some pigeon feathers there and the little dog likes to pick them up.

‘I was going to clear them up. As I went out into the garden they shot down past me into the corner, which they normally do when the sense something, and all of a sudden this fox comes shooting past me.

He said he ‘thought nothing of it’ and went back to clearing up the feathers when fox runs past him again.

Dave added: ‘About 30 seconds later my wife said the fox has been in the bedroom and I was a bit shocked.

‘It shot straight up the stairs in the bedroom, and then it had come out. My wife was a bit concerned it was still in the flat and she came down in her nightie.’

Dave said that after watching the footage he found it ‘quite funny’.

He compared himself chasing after the dogs to Basil Fawlty, John Cleese’s character from the serious Fawly Towers who is well known for his incompetence.

He added that when he saw the fox come ‘flying out’ of the window he thought it was ‘amazing’ and not something you see everyday.

Dave said he has shown the video to his friends and is ‘grateful’ to have caught the hilarious clip on camera.
