WWE superstar Raquel Rodriguez has revealed the workout routine and diet that she sticks to in order to stay in such phenomenal shape – while still allowing herself to indulge in ‘juicy burgers’ and ‘pasta.’

Raquel, 32, originally from Texas, whose real name is Victoria González, spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com about how she achieves her amazing physique.

According to the three-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion and one-time NXT Women’s Champion, staying in shape involves a few key things, including taking time to stretch before gym sessions, focusing on cardio-heavy workouts, and making her own meals rather than eating out.

The wrestler, who is gearing up to face off against Rhea Ripley at WWE’s Payback this Saturday, explained that she always starts her exercises by spending ‘five minutes getting her mind right.’

She prefers to do her mental preparations in a sauna, but if one isn’t available, she’ll sit in a ‘grassy area.’

Raquel said she takes the time to ‘tell herself what she’s going to do’ in the gym so she’s ‘prepared.’

She also makes sure to ‘stretch’ and ‘warm up’ before doing any lifting because mobility and flexibility are vital as a wrestler.

‘I think stretching and warming up and having mobility is very important, especially in what we do because our body sometimes gets contorted in certain ways,’ she explained.

‘Having muscle is cool, but also having muscle, it stops your range of motion a little bit.

‘I used to be able to reach the middle of my back, but now I’m so jacked I can’t do that anymore. I think mobility is very important before you start lifting.’

Raquel said another key to her success is changing up her workout routine so that she doesn’t get bored or discouraged in the gym.

‘You can’t be doing the same thing all year long. Sometimes I’ll do super sets and I’ll get my heart rate up a lot, or sometimes I’ll go super heavy with just a couple of lifts and keep it easy,’ she continued.

Burpees, push-ups, jumping rope, and sprints on the StairMaster are some of her go-to exercises.

Another thing she always tries to include in her gym sessions is ‘cardio’ because she explained that having high stamina is a huge benefit in the ring.

‘I don’t just walk for 45 minutes, I try to really get in there and get my heart rate going and break a sweat,’ she said.

‘It is hard. There’s no half in this. Everybody kind of has their own regimens, but I think staying flexible and staying in shape on the road is key.’

When it comes to her diet, she tries to bring her own food when she’s on the road because the ‘options’ when you’re traveling ‘aren’t always the healthiest.’

She also stressed the importance of listening to your body and ensuring that you’re eating enough.

I pack protein powder and I keep snacks with me just in case – because as you’re building muscle and you’re trying to maintain your size and your strength, you have to eat,’ she said.

Raquel admitted that she ‘definitely’ treats herself to ‘cheat meals at least once or twice a week.’

She said she ‘loves carbs’ and treats herself to things like ‘breakfast tacos, juicy burgers, or pasta.’

‘I definitely have my cheat meals. I love carbs, so anything with bread, a nice big juicy burger or pasta, yeah, that’ll do it for me,’ she dished.

‘I do have cheat meals at least once or twice a week so I’m not fully just neglecting myself and my needs. I need all of that good food. It helps me, it fuels me.’
